The multimédia collection

The MuCEM's ethnological multimedia collection is a testimony to cultural diversity, offering users access to a broad selection of images, sounds and film sequences collected by ethnologists during field surveys both in France and abroad. It was launched by the multimedia department of the MuCEM and supported by the Ministry of Culture and Communication (Resarch and Technology Department)

Concurrent with the entry into force of UNESCO's Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage, this educational and user-friendly approach to ethnological research has been rewarded with the international Möbius Prize for 2007 and the AVICOM Award 2007 for "Bagpipes from Europe and the Mediterranean"
